I love that we set aside a whole day to honor and celebrate the women who raised us. My mom was an amazing mother who dedicated her life to me. She was selfless yet strong- and the most beautiful woman I know. Mother’s Day holds a special place in my own heart because of the little one who made me a mom, Nyah Laylanni. I love waking up to her little feet kicking me in the face and her beautiful ‘morning breath’ filled smile. Those are the moments that remind me motherhood is truly special, and fostering her growth is my favorite job of all, ever, forever.

Each year as mother’s day approaches I get a bit nostalgic and I’m reminded how important it is to celebrate Nyah on a day to day basis. This mother’s day we got to really enjoy a fun filled day for the both of us. Nyah and I spent the day getting lost in the newest shopping experience in South Florida, Brickell City Centre. We enjoyed a full day of pampering, shopping, lunch and then more shopping.

We started our morning off at Sean Donaldson where Nyah got the cutest braids and I enjoyed a relaxing blow out, I sipped on a latte while Nyah took selfies feeling like Rapunzel in her new-do. We strolled down to Kendra Scott where we got to make our own necklaces. If you aren’t familiar with Kendra Scott you’re missing out, not only are the pieces beyondgorgeous but you get to personalize any piece with the stone color of your choice. She went through almost every color before spotting the IVORY PEARL stone, she had to have it; and even now, days later it hasn’t come off. From there we checked out Tacology. I can’t rave enough about this spot. Not only are the vibes just right at Tacology but the food is even better. I can’t wait to go there again, hopefully on a date this time ;). After we were nice and full we got to check out the new collection from Jorge Bischoff, where I picked out my new favorite heels. The detail from this line is beyond me, not to mention the inspiration for the line came from Miami I knew I had to add them to my closet.

We made our way to the Brickell Nail Bar where Nyah picked out the cutest shade of pink for her fingernails and I matched her with a lighter pink for my manicure. I went for a gel manicure, they did a great job and my nails still look fabulous. We strolled past Acqua Di Parma and the scent pulled us inside. Naturally Nyah chose the 'Rosa' scent, not only because it smells incredible but I the fact that it’s pink made it a no brainer, she “needed it” or at least that’s what she told me. We finished by stopping in Etxart and Panno where I found the perfect fitted white full length skirt, complete Kim K vibes, can’t wait to rock it with a white tee. All in all, Nyah and I had the greatest time wandering through Brickell City Centre, what can I say, I’m starting her early.
